Samina Baig

Samina Baig is the owner and Chief Executive Officer of Samina Baig Travels. Hailing from Shimshal Valley in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan, she is the first Pakistani woman and the third Pakistani to have climbed Mount Everest. Samina also has the honor of being the youngest Muslim woman to climb Everest at the age of 21. She is also the first Pakistani woman and first Muslim to climb all Seven Summits.
To start with, Samina climbed the 6,000 m high Shashkin Sar peak in 2010, after which the peak was renamed as Samina Peak. In 2011, she climbed Koh-i-Brobar. She started her training in mountaineering at the age of 15. Baig has also worked as a mountain guide and expedition leader, taking expeditions to peaks in the Karakoram and Hindu Kush ranges. Since 2009, she is a professional mountaineer.
Baig has a passion for mountaineering and her work is steered by her philosophy of gender equality in her climbing spree. She reached the summit of the 8,848 m high Mount Everest on May 19, 2013. Samina also attempted to climb the world’s second highest mountain, K2, in 2015. However, her mission remained unaccomplished due to an injury that forced her to abandon her bid to summit the mountain.
Samina successfully climbed the seven highest mountains in seven continents of the world:

  • Mt. Aconcagua, South America
  • Mt. Vinson, Antarctica
  • Mt. Kilimanjaro Africa
  • Mt. Denali, North America
  • Mt. Punjack Jaya, Oceana
  • Mt. Elbrus, Russia/Europe
Samina also takes an active part in social causes. She is a part of the Pakistan Youth Outreach Foundation – a local, non-governmental organization established by her family. Ali Musa

Ali Musa is an inhabitant and resident of a beautiful valley Shimshal. He got his early education in Middle School, Shimshal and proceeded to Karachi for higher education.  He returned to Shimshal valley after his Intermediate studies as the trend of visiting foreign tourist to Shimshal valley for amusement walks and for climbing, was at its peak.  He became a tourist guide and guided different tourist groups to various parts of Northern Areas.

During these adventures, Ali Musa got a chance with a French group to have a track through Baltooro Glacier (Skardu).  With hope and will, he is in the field for the achievements not only for himself but for his nation and country in the world.

Ali Musa started climbing at the age of 18 and following are the achievements gained up to this point.

Amin Ullah Baig

Amin Ullah is an adventurer, explorer, and experienced mountaineer. He is the third Pakistani to climb all five eight-thousander peaks in Pakistan. He did this feat without using Oxygen, which is a reflection of his fitness and expertise. Amin Ullah Baig has climbed the following peaks:

1. Gasherbrum 2 (8,035 m), in 2000

2. Gasherbrum 1 (8,080 m), in 2004

3. Nanga Parbat (8,126 m), in 2009

4. K2 – Choghori/Godwin Austin (8,611 m) in 20014

5. Broad Peak (8,051 m) in 2017

Born in Shimshal Village of Hunza Valley, Mr. Amin started climbing at a very young age. He has an inherent passion for exploring the mountains and taking on new adventurous experiences. Amin knows the highest mountains in Pakistan like the back of his hands because he has already climbed most of them.
