Biosam and Chapchingal Pass Trek
per person
Biosam and Chafchingol are two high altitude passes located in Shimshal village of Gojal Valley. The Karakoram Highway passes at a distance 17 kilometers on the Kuksel (Khunjerab side) of these passes. Crossing the Ghuzherav mountains (where these passes are situated) is an adventurous and beautiful journey. While trekking through the Boisum Pass does not involve glacier; however, the Chafchingol pass does involve glacial traversing.
We are offering a 24-day-long trek for Biosam and Chapchingal Pass. Our journey will start from Islamabad a day following your arrival. We will drive you on the mighty KKH to Chilas. After a stay at Chilas, we’ll drive the next day to Karimabad, Hunza where we’ll trek to Ultar base camp, besides visiting the historical places like Altit and Baltit forts.
On the fifth day of our journey, we’ll arrive at Dutt in Shimshal. This is the spot where our trek will begin. We’ll trek through Shimshal village and then all the way to Forzine, Arbab Periyan, and Shujerab pass. Our trek will also cover Shimshal Pass, and back via the same route to Mahidur, Shopodin Pass and finally Boesam Pir Pass, and Chapchingal Pass. Our trek will come to an end once we arrive at Kuksel, near the KKH on the Khunjerab National Park side. We’ll then drive you back to Islamabad over the next 2-3 days.
