Chaskinsar Peak was named as Samina Peak after Samina Baig became the first woman to climb the peak. The 6,000m high peak is situated in the Shimshal Pamir region – in the northern areas of Pakistan. This peaks falls in the Karakoram Range. Mirza Ali and Samina Baig first reached the summit of Chaskin Sar mountain in 2009.
This mountain can be approached via multiple routes. It generally takes four days trek from Shimshal to arrive at the base camp of Samina Peak, which has a moderately difficult terrain. If you are an experienced climber and are physically fit, you can climb the mountain with ease. However, you must have experience climbing 6,000m peaks in the past to successfully summit Samina Peak.
Samina Baig Travels has a 15-day itinerary for this expedition, starting with your arrival in Islamabad, Pakistan. From Islamabad, we will drive you to Gilgit and then Hunza via the KKH. The next day, we will drive to the beautiful Shimshal Valley, where you will rest for a day.
We will trek for the next three days to reach the base camp of Samina Peak. And for the next 4 days, we will attempt to climb the peak. Depending on the weather condition and your training and experience, you will hopefully succeed in reaching the summit and descending back to the base camp.
